No. Folder access, file names, paths, contents, and search queries stay in your browser. Nothing is uploaded and there is no indexing API. After the page assets load, search works offline.
This tool needs the File System Access API (window.showDirectoryPicker). Use a Chromium-based browser such as Chrome or Edge. Firefox and Safari are not supported in this version.
Text-based files: txt, md, json, csv, log, js, ts, jsx, tsx, vue, css, html, xml, yaml, yml, and sql. Other files still appear in filename and path search. Files larger than 1 MB are not content-indexed. PDF, Office, and image formats are not extracted yet.
The index is stored in your browser (IndexedDB): file names, paths, sizes, and search data — not full file contents. After a refresh you can search immediately. Previewing and re-scanning need folder permission again; use Reconnect folder.
Common dependency and build directories are always ignored: node_modules, .git, dist, build, .output, .nuxt, target, vendor, coverage, and similar. Hidden directories are skipped too. If a folder has a .gitignore, those rules also apply to that subtree.
