Patterns are evaluated with JavaScript’s RegExp engine—the same syntax used in browsers and Node for match(), exec(), and replace().
Global (g) finds every match instead of stopping at the first. Ignore case (i) treats letters as case-insensitive. Multiline (m) makes ^ and $ match the start and end of each line, not only the whole string.
Without multiline mode, ^ and $ anchor to the very start and end of the entire text. Turn on Multiline (m) to anchor to the start and end of each line instead.
Each match shows the full match first, then Group 1, Group 2, and so on for parentheses in your pattern. An empty pair of parentheses still counts as a group and may show an empty capture.
